TOUR Itinerary

The tour begins with an early pickup from your accommodation in Fes, heading south through Imouzzer to Ifrane, famous for its cool climate, snow in winter, and Alpine-style architecture—earning it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” Next, explore the Cedars Forest, home to playful Barbary Macaques, which you can feed while enjoying the serene surroundings.

Stop in Midelt for a relaxing lunch before continuing through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass along the Ziz River, entering the vast Sahara Desert. In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, where you can ride camels across the golden dunes and pause atop a high dune to watch a magical desert sunset. Continue to a luxury desert camp, where traditional Berber hospitality, drums, and music await under a sky full of stars. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.

Wake early to witness the unforgettable sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast. Return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga, where your driver awaits. Spend the day exploring the region, full of sand dunes, wild lakes, ancient mines, fossil sites, and lush oases—perfect for outdoor adventures.

Begin with an off-road visit to an ancient eyeliner mine, then meet nomads in their traditional tents and enjoy a cup of Berber tea while learning about their lifestyle. Next, visit Khamlia Village, famous for Gnaoua music and dance, with locals originally from Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before strolling through a palm grove and visiting the wild Merzouga Lake, also known as Flamingos Lake. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in Merzouga.

After breakfast, depart the desert for Rissani, the historic capital of Tafilalet, known for its lively souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Continue to Erfoud to explore a workshop specializing in fossilized marble.

Drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges, a dramatic canyon with towering red cliffs carved by the Todra River—ideal for hiking and photography. After free time for lunch, continue through Boumalne Dades to the Dades Valley, stopping at the iconic Monkey Fingers rock formations and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the valley. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Dades.

On the final day, drive to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Roses Valley, known for its annual Rose Festival in May, where locals offer rose-based products like perfumes, oils, and cosmetics. Continue through the palm groves of Skoura before arriving in Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert, visiting local film studios and the historic Taourirt Kasbah.

Next, explore the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in films like Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and series such as Game of Thrones.
