TOUR Itinerary

On the first day of your journey, you will arrive in Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and economic center. You will be welcomed at the airport or your accommodation and start the tour with a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, perched above the Atlantic Ocean and known as the largest mosque in Morocco. After some free time for lunch, you can explore Mohammed V Square with its striking colonial architecture, stop for photos at the iconic Rick’s Café, and enjoy a scenic walk along the vibrant Corniche of Casablanca. Overnight stay in a comfortable hotel in Casablanca.

After breakfast, drive along the coast to Rabat, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the current capital. Highlights include the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudayas. Following some free time for lunch, continue north through Ouazzane to reach the blue-washed streets of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. Overnight stay in Chefchaouen.

Spend the morning wandering through the beautiful alleyways of Chefchaouen before heading to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring intricate mosaics and monumental arches. Then drive to Meknes, the Ismaili capital, to explore Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables and Granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Continue to Fes for an overnight stay in a traditional riad.

After breakfast, enjoy a guided exploration of Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual heart. Start with a driving tour to see the Royal Palace Gate, the historic Jewish Quarter Mellah, Borj Sud Fortress for panoramic views, and the Ceramic Village & School showcasing traditional craftsmanship. Then take a walking tour of the UNESCO-listed Medina, visiting Al Attarine Madrasa, the University of Al Quaraouiyine, and the Chouara Tanneries. Return to your riad to relax and overnight in Fes.

After breakfast, drive south to Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco, and explore the nearby cedar forests where Barbary macaques roam freely. Continue to Midelt for lunch, then drive through the scenic Ziz Valley to Merzouga. Arrive in the Sahara Desert and embark on a camel ride across the dunes, stopping atop a high dune to watch the sunset. Arrive at your luxury desert camp for dinner, traditional Berber music, and overnight under the starry sky.

Wake early to witness the magical sunrise over the desert. After breakfast, explore the Merzouga region by camel or 4×4. Visit an ancient eyeliner mine, meet nomads in their handmade tents, enjoy Berber tea, and travel to Khamlia Village to experience Gnaoua music and dance. After lunch, stroll through a palm grove and visit the wild Merzouga Lake, home to flamingos. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Merzouga.

Depart the desert to visit Rissani, an ancient capital with a lively traditional souq. Continue to Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops, then drive through palm groves to the stunning Todra Gorges, a dramatic canyon perfect for scenic walks and photography. Continue to Dades Valley, stopping at the “Monkey Fingers” rock formation and panoramic viewpoints. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Dades Valley.

Drive to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Rose Valley, then continue through Skoura’s palm groves to Ouarzazate, the “Gate of the Desert,” with a stop at the local film studios. Explore the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Drive via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass across the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. Overnight in a riad.

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech, visiting the Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Madrasa, the bustling Medina and souks, Jamaa El Fna Square, and the Koutoubia Mosque (outside view). In the afternoon, visit the Majorelle Garden and explore the modern Gueliz district. Return to your riad for overnight stay.

Drive west to the coastal town of Essaouira, stopping at Argan tree cooperatives along the way. Explore Essaouira, formerly Mogador, known for its seafood, beaches, surfing, fishing port, ancient ramparts, and old Medina. Overnight stay in Essaouira.

On the final day, depart Essaouira and drive back to Casablanca for your departure. The tour can also be concluded in Marrakech if preferred.
