TOUR Itinerary

The 3-day Merzouga desert tour begins with an early pick-up from your accommodation or the airport in Marrakech. Drive through the stunning High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass, stopping to admire panoramic views of the majestic landscapes. Continue to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous filming location for movies such as Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and the TV series Game of Thrones. Next, head to Ouarzazate, the “Gate of the Desert,” and enjoy free time for lunch. Drive through the Rose Valley and the extensive palm groves of Skoura, then continue to Boumalne Dades for dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel.

 

After breakfast, explore the dramatic Dades Valley with stops for panoramic views of the gorge. Continue to the Todra Gorges, a spectacular red-cliff canyon carved by the Todra River, ideal for photography and short walks. Drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, with free time for lunch along the way. In the afternoon, reach the Merzouga Sahara Desert, where you will ride camels across the sand dunes. Pause atop a high dune to witness the mesmerizing sunset, then arrive at the luxury desert camp, where you can enjoy Berber drum music and dance around the campfire beneath the starry sky. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

Rise early to admire the breathtaking sunrise over the desert, followed by a traditional Moroccan breakfast. Return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 to meet your driver. Visit Rissani, known for its bustling traditional souk, then continue to Alnif and along the scenic Draa Valley toward Ouarzazate. Cross the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass once again through the Anti Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation in Marrakech.
