TOUR Itinerary

The tour begins with an early pickup from your Fes accommodation or airport. Travel south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, known for its cool climate, occasional snow, and Alpine-style architecture, earning it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” Continue to the Cedars Forest, home to Barbary Macaques, which you can feed while exploring the forest.

Stop in Midelt for lunch before heading toward the Sahara Desert, passing the scenic Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass and following the Ziz River. Arrive in Merzouga, where you switch to camels and traverse the golden dunes, stopping atop a high dune to enjoy a magical sunset. End the day at a luxury desert camp, where traditional Berber drums, music, and dancing await under a star-filled sky. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

Start early to witness the breathtaking desert sunrise, followed by breakfast. Return on camels or by 4×4 to Merzouga, where your driver will continue the day’s adventure exploring the surrounding region.

Visit an ancient eyeliner mine, then meet local nomads in their handmade tents to learn about their lifestyle over Berber tea. Continue to Khamlia Village, where you can enjoy authentic Gnaoua music and dancing, performed by inhabitants originating from sub-Saharan countries. After a free lunch, stroll through a palm grove, and drive a short distance to the wild lake of Merzouga, also called Flamingos Lake, a beautiful oasis in the desert. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.

After breakfast, depart the desert for Rissani, the historic capital of Tafilalet, known for its bustling souk held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Continue to Erfoud to visit a fossilized marble workshop.

Drive along the Ziz River, stopping for panoramic views of the valley. Pass through the Cedars Forest and return to Ifrane before reaching Fes. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation or Fes airport.
